Payment is by cash, cheque or bank transfer. The practice has no card terminal. For video sessions, the transfer is made before the session and the secure link is sent once it has been received.
Reimbursement and funding
French statutory health insurance
The practice is not contracted with the French statutory health insurance (Assurance Maladie) and does not take part in the “Mon soutien psy” scheme, under which a limited number of sessions with an approved psychologist are reimbursed. Consultations here are therefore not reimbursed by the French state.
Complementary health insurance
Many complementary health insurers reimburse all or part of sessions with a psychologist, often as an annual allowance. In France that is your mutuelle; if you work in Luxembourg or Belgium, check your employer’s or your national scheme’s conditions before starting. An itemised receipt is issued at each session for your claim.
PCO-TND: early assessment for young children
A PCO-TND (Plateforme de Coordination et d’Orientation des Troubles du Neurodéveloppement) is a publicly funded French platform that coordinates the early assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions. A partnership is being set up. Once it is in place, assessments carried out under the scheme will be funded in full, with no advance payment:
- for children under 7 in Meurthe-et-Moselle (department 54);
- for children under 13 in Moselle (department 57).
Entry into the scheme goes through a doctor, who refers the file to the platform for your department. Eligibility is decided by the platform.
Cancellation
A booked slot is reserved for you alone. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice (24 hours being the absolute minimum), and 72 hours for an assessment, which takes up half a day that cannot be reallocated at short notice. Beyond that, or where an appointment is missed without notice, the session is payable.
These rules obviously do not apply in the event of a medical emergency, hospital admission or other unavoidable circumstances, on simple evidence.
